# User Memories

{% hint style="info" %}
This feature is currently in beta, with access limited to those participating in the beta.
{% endhint %}

User Memories are personal notes that tell Pylon AI how you work. They capture durable preferences, conventions, and context so you do not need to repeat the same instructions in every conversation.

For example, you might have Pylon AI remember which field to use when searching for logs for a specific customer.

{% hint style="info" %}
Your memories are personal and are not visible to other people in your workspace.
{% endhint %}

### Create a memory

You can ask the [Assist Agent](/pylon-docs/agents/assist-agent.md) to create a memory while you work. For example:

<figure><img src="/files/GNRiSa7H2wWP6hwG4VUU" alt="" width="357"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can also create a memory manually from the [memories](https://app.usepylon.com/settings/memories) page and import memories to bring in memories from another AI tool you use.

After some conversations, [Assist Agent](/pylon-docs/agents/assist-agent.md) may suggest to save something as memory. Select the suggestion, review and edit the proposed summary and memory, then select **Save to Memory**.&#x20;

### Examples

## How memories are used

When you start your next conversation with Pylon AI your saved memories are available as personal context. It applies a memory when it is relevant to your request, investigation, or action.

Memories make Pylon AI faster and more consistent.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.usepylon.com/pylon-docs/agents/user-memories.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
