# Synced Blocks

Synced blocks let you reuse the same content across multiple knowledge base articles. Edit the block once, and every article that embeds it updates automatically.

This is useful for content that appears in many articles, like disclaimers, prerequisites, or common troubleshooting steps.

## Embedding a Synced Block

1. In the article editor, type the forward slash key (`/`).
2. Select **Synced block** from the menu.
3. Search for the block by title and press Enter to embed it.

Only published synced blocks appear in the picker.

## Editing a Synced Block

Hover over the embedded block and click **Edit** in the toolbar. The block opens in its own editor, and saved changes apply to every article that embeds it.

## Unsyncing a Block

Hover over the block and click **Unsync** to convert it into static content in that article only. Other articles stay synced.

## Deleting a Synced Block

When you delete a synced block, you can either:

* **Desync**: inline the block's current content into every article that uses it, so the content stays put but is no longer synced.
* **Remove**: drop the content from all articles that embed it.

## Translations

Synced blocks have their own translations. When an article is viewed in a translated language, the matching translation of the embedded block is shown, falling back to the default language if none exists.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use synced blocks for content over multiple articles you expect to change over time. For one-off copy, a regular paragraph is simpler to manage.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.usepylon.com/pylon-docs/knowledge-base/articles-and-collections/synced-blocks.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
